    Finally for sale, beautiful artificial laurels by Leopoldflora, an Outdoor quality that guarantees many years of carefree enjoyment. Real bay laurel, also called Laurus nobilis comes from the beloved bay laurel family and is a true Mediterranean plant. Originates from the Mediterranean, but unfortunately not completely hardy in our region (northern-Europe).

    These classic and popular garden plants have been admired by garden lovers for many years but are therefore anything but easy to maintain. Yellow leaves, susceptibility to frost, etc. In short, a lot of maintenance makes the bay laurel less and less popular.  At LeopoldFlora, we are delighted to be able to supply an artificial bay laurel that will provide years of pleasure and require no maintenance.

     

    History of bay laurel

     

    In the 17th century this classical garden plant was introduced in our area (Northern Europe). It was often kept as a tub plant in famous country houses such as the Loo and Versailles in Paris. In the winter, these tub plants were brought in by the gardeners to brighten up the avenues and gardens of country houses and castle gardens every spring.  

    The Latin name is derived from "Laudare" which means praiseworthy.

    During the classical Olympics, laurel leaves were used in a laurel wreath to honour the champions.

    Nowadays, laurel leaves are also frequently used in kitchens.
